We would like to identify programs and individuals in the state who utilize resources to reduce risks for their community and personnel, and encourage positive effort in this regard.
- There will be three categories (The Fire & Life Safety Educator of the Year Award, The Community Impact Award, and The Chief Advocate for Prevention Award), and the recipient of each will be recognized at the Alabama Fire & Life Safety Summit on September 10th at the Alabama Fire College.
- Nominations will be accepted through August 28 at 5pm.
- Nominees do not have to hold any specific certifications.
- Multiple nominations are allowed.
- Give specific examples.
The Fire & Life Safety Educator of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding educator who has demonstrated commitment in advancing fire and life safety education in their community. This award honors individuals who inspire safer communities through innovative programs, effective outreach, and a steadfast commitment to prevention. Recipients exemplify leadership, creativity, and dedication in educating the public and reducing community risk through fire and life safety education.

The Community Impact Award recognizes an individual, department, organization, or team whose collaborative efforts have made a significant and measurable difference in improving fire and life safety within their community. This award honors partnerships that demonstrate innovation, dedication, and a shared commitment to reducing risk, increasing public awareness, and creating safer communities through education and prevention. This nomination does not have to be a member of your fire department!
The Chief Advocate for Prevention Award recognizes a fire chief (or other high-ranking member of the department) who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing fire and life safety education within their department and community. This award honors leaders who champion prevention initiatives, support public education efforts, empower fire and life safety educators, and foster a culture that prioritizes community risk reduction and safety. Through their vision, leadership, and advocacy, recipients have made a lasting impact on protecting lives through education and prevention.
