Certifying Alabama's Best Firefighters

The Alabama Fire College and the Personnel Standards & Education Commission (AFC & PSEC) are charged with the responsibility of the certification of firefighters in the State of Alabama and are guided by the Code of Alabama, the Alabama Administrative Code General Regulations and Administrative Procedures as well as our certification policies/procedures. As part of the accreditation process, we disclose our practices to third-party fire service accrediting agencies, Pro Board and IFSAC, who audit the organization every five years to assure compliance.

Upon successful completion and receipt of all required documentation, an Alabama certificate with the applicable Pro Board and IFSAC seals will be emailed within a few weeks after testing. This certificate is automatically registered with these entities with no further application or fees needed on the part of the student.
