Admission Requirements
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate the English language
- Physical Statement - AFC & PSEC Form 05 - Per the Alabama Administrative Code (Chapter 360-X-1), This form must be completed and submitted prior to beginning any certification training leading to certification as a Fire Fighter or Volunteer Fire Fighter.
- Successful completion of Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) within 12 months of start date

(Pro Board or IFSAC) Volunteer Fire Fighter
Certification Requirements
Prior to certification as a Fire Fighter I and II the student should complete the following:
- Successful completion of the Comprehensive Final examination
- Peer Support Awareness course completion
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800
- Traffic Incident Management (TIMs) course completion
- Certified Rapid Intervention Crew Member
- (Pro Board of IFSAC) Certified Hazardous Materials/WMD Awareness and Operations
