Regional Training Center Network
In order to meet the Mission of the Alabama Fire College, we are guided by the pursuit of five core strategies: 1) Provide excellent education and training, 2) Support the Alabama Fire Service, 3) Promote higher education for the fire service, 4) Provide excellent customer service, and 5) Ensure stewardship of public resources.
These core strategies led us to the creation and implementation of the Regional Training Network. The Alabama Fire College has partnered with fire departments across the state to provide training opportunities at locations around the state. These course were previously only been available by attending the Alabama Fire College in Tuscaloosa. The RTC network consist of 12 regional training centers and 8 extension training centers. The courses available at each of these sites is dependent upon several factors, but our goal is to provide the training needed by the fire service at locations around the state. This availability should increase the number of personnel able to achieve their training and certification needs while at the same time reducing the cost to them or their employer.
There are a few key factors that are different from our normal field delivery that are key to the RTC process: 1) all students must pay tuition, 2) pre-registration for courses held at a Regional Extension or Training Center is a MUST, 3) a minimum number of attendees for each class has been established to assure good stewardship of funds (please take advantage of the classes when they are in your area), and 4) register as early as possible. Student counts are taken two weeks prior to start date to determine if sufficient numbers are present.
A copy of the student registration form can be found here. Registration(s) can be faxed, scanned, emailed, or completed online. Our fax number is (205)391-3758 and the Registration division can be contacted at 1(800)241-2467 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
