Temporary Suspension of NIMS Certificate Submission Requirement

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, FEMA has limited staffing and is experiencing significant delays in processing NIMS certificates. Because the Alabama Fire College cannot delay firefighter certification processes, we will temporarily suspend the requirement to produce FEMA-issued NIMS certificates (NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800).

This suspension does not remove the requirement for students to complete the applicable NIMS training; it only delays the requirement to provide proof of training.

Once the federal government reopens and FEMA resumes normal operations, all affected personnel must complete the required training and petition FEMA for their official NIMS certificates and upload them to their student dashboard as soon as they are available.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to minimize disruption to certification processes during this federal delay.
