Fire Fighter I/II Instructor Update

Prerequisites

• 18 years of age
• High School Diploma/GED
• Physical Statement - AFC & PSEC Form 05 - Per the Alabama Administrative Code (Chapter 360-X-1), This form must be completed and submitted prior to beginning any certification training leading to certification as a Fire Fighter or Volunteer Fire Fighter.
• Successful completion of Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) within 12 months of start date
• Prior to Certification as a Fire Fighter I and II: (Pro Board or IFSAC) Certified Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations
• Additional admission requirements

Special Equipment

• NFPA compliant turnout gear and SCBA with spare bottle
• PASS device
• Approved Departmental or Fire College PT clothing
        (Fire College clothing is available at the AFC Bookstore. More than one PT outfit is recommended)
• Running shoes

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding course which requires the student to be in good physical condition.
