CPAT Exam Package

CPAT is a partnership between the International Association of Fire Fighters and the International Association of Fire Chiefs to improve the quality of life for all fire department uniformed personnel. After considerable efforts, the Task force agreed that prior to establishing incumbent performance evaluations, fire departments must hire physically-capable candidates, have comprehensive training programs, and implement all components of the Wellness/Fitness initiative.

As a result of this initiative, the Alabama Fire College and Personnel Standards Commission adopted CPAT as a requirement for entering a minimum standards course for Fire Fighter I. As part of the CPAT requirements, candidates must have an opportunity to receive the preparation guide and have the opportunity to go through the orientation at least eight weeks prior to taking the CPAT exam.
