Alabama Pipeline Emergency Response Initiative – Dispatch

The Alabama Pipeline Emergency Response Initiative (APERI) is a cooperative effort between the Alabama Fire College and the Pipeline Operators in the State. This one-hour course covers important information that 911 operators need to know to help assist pipeline operators and emergency responders during a pipeline incident. This course covers pipeline basics, operation, signs of a leak with natural gas or liquid petroleum products and what to expect during a report of a leak, fire, or explsion of a pipeline accident or problem. It assists 911 operators with specific information to ask callers and how to communicate with pipeline oeprators and first responders if an event occurs in a direct and efficient way.
