Basic Fire Streams

The Basic Fire Stream course is designed to provide the student with an opportunity to develop skills and increase proficiency in the safe operation of fire streams. This course utilizes classroom lectures, discussions, video presentations, and hands-on practical exercises to illustrate and reinforce the principles, functions, limitations, and techniques of fire streams.

Specific topics addressed in this course are the extinguishing properties of water, principles of fire streams, pressure loss, application methods, types and designs of nozzles, methods for operating nozzles, methods for achieving desired flow rates and discharge patterns.
