Swift Water Awareness

This is a 24-hour Awareness and Operations class for Surface Water Rescue. There will be a classroom as well as field instruction that will include, but will not be limited to: river hydrology, preplanning water sites, safety, self-rescue, equipment, and command of water incidents.

Special equipment needed: Water helmet or climbing helmet (no fire fighting helmets), wetsuit or drysuit, water boots or tennis shoes, water gloves, Coast Guard approved Type III personal flotation device
