RT: Swiftwater I/II

   

This course is based on NFPA 1006: Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications, and may lead to IFSAC and Pro Board certifications. This course is designed for individuals who will perform or direct a technical rescue by identifying hazards, using equipment, and applying advanced techniques to rescue a victim from water moving at a rate greater than 1.15 mph. Campus Delivery Only. (Classes that are delivered either at the Alabama Fire College or an RTC or other area as approved by the Regional Coordinator and Training Staff at AFC.)

Special Equipment - Water helmet or climbing helmet (no fire fighting helmets), Wetsuit or drysuit, Water boots or tennis shoes, Water gloves, Coast Guard approved Type V personal flotation device, 2 forms of light (Waterproof flashlight & glow stick for night drill)

Physical Requirements - This is a very physically demanding course which requires student to be in good physical condition.
