This course is based on NFPA 1001: Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications. The Certified Volunteer Fire Fighter Block courses prepare the student for the Volunteer Fire Fighter State Certification Examination. The course is highly structured to provide academic information through a series of lectures and demonstrations augmented with visual aids. Practical skills are developed with a specified degree of proficiency through selected manipulative evolutions. Specific subject topics covered in Volunteer Fire Fighter Block 2 include Fire and Life Safety Initiatives, Building Construction, Ground Ladders, Ropes, Webbing and Knots, Structural Search, and Victim Removal. This course is recommended for all Volunteer Fire Fighters.
