Field Programs: I want to offer a fire training course in my community.

You can use a qualified instructor that your department provides.
This is a non-contract course. You provide a qualified instructor. No fees are charged to the students. You must submit required forms and you must follow the Policies, Procedures, and Regulations of the Commission. These courses are available for Field delivery on a non-contract basis.

You can use an instructor that the Alabama Fire College provides.
This is a contract course. The Alabama Fire College hires a qualified instructor; as a result, there are fees that the students must pay to cover the costs of instruction, monitoring, testing, and certification. Check with Field Programs staff to determine the fees that would be required for each student. Different forms are required for contract courses. These courses are available for Field delivery on a contract basis.

How many students? All certification courses require a minimum of 8 students to be present at all class meetings. If a class is reduced to fewer than 8 students through dropouts, the course loses it approval and the course stops.
