FIELD TRAINING MEMORANDUM

All application
correspondence must be legible and completed in full with all required
signatures, time, dates, locations and assigned instructor for each class.
All required
application correspondence must be submitted to the Alabama Fire College
Field Training Programs thirty (30) days prior to the proposed course start date. (See
Application Checklist for applicable category: Certification, Volunteer Fire
Fighter Certification, Non-Certification. Please note the absence
policy in each category.)
All Field Course
Application correspondence must be submitted to the: Alabama Fire College
Field Training Programs, 2501 Phoenix Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.
Field courses may not
begin without prior approval.
All field courses are
subject to be monitored. Therefore, the submitted course schedule must be
adhered to. If any deviation from the schedule is to occur, the Alabama Fire
College Field Training Programs must be notified prior to the change. If a last
minute schedule change must be made, the Field Training Programs must be notified
promptly, the next business day by calling 1-800-241-2467.
When the Alabama
Fire College regional
coordinator comes to monitor the class, he will need to verify several
items. Course progress records (if applicable), and the Alabama Fire College
Enrollment Sheet, must be up to date and available on site for review. The
monitor will check for the correct teaching outlines, textbooks, minimum
number of students and the scheduled instructor of record for that class. He
will also ascertain that the applicable absence policy is being followed.
Attention: New Policy
If you have students attending this certification course from
out-of-state, the Alabama Fire College requires a $50.00 fee per student. It
is your responsibility to collect this fee from the student and forward it
to the Alabama Fire College or require subject students to contact the AFC
Field Training Programs for payment. Payment must made with Visa or MasterCard.
However, fee remittance must be received at the AFC Field Training Programs office no
later than noon CST of the second day of the course. For more
