Rescue
Technician: Trench Refresher
A
course designed to provide hands on training that will allow students to
stay up to date in the field of trench rescue. The course will consist
primarily of outside skills practice of the pertinent job performance
requirements of the NFPA 1006, Standard for Rescue Technician
Professional Qualifications.
A
course designed to review the student on proper techniques to make open
trenches and excavations safe for victim access and removal. The class is
made realistic by actual sheeting and shoring operations of "unsafe"
trenches, by using shoring equipment, and practice in developing skills in
lifting practices within the trench environment.
Note:
This is a very physically
demanding course which requires you to be in good physical condition.
Special Equipment
Required:
Must bring hard hat, work gloves, work boots (not
firefighting boots), clothing suitable for outside activities, and OSHA
approved safety glasses.
