Rescue Technician: Structural Collapse Refresher
This
course is conducted in two days and is designed to provide hands on training
that will allow students to stay up to date in the field of structural
collapse rescue. The course will consist primarily of outside skills
practice of the pertinent job performance requirements of the NFPA 1006,
Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications. This
refresher course addresses heavy construction collapse and emphasizes the
following discipline areas: breaching and breaking; lifting and moving;
interior shoring; exterior shoring; and cutting and burning.
Students attending this course will receive a certificate of attendance that
can be applied as a credentialing education unit (CEU’s).
Note: This is a
very physically demanding course which requires you to be in good physical
condition.
Special equipment required:
Steel toe shoes,
clothing suitable for outside activities (long-sleeved shirt and pants;
coveralls), rain gear (coat and trousers), knee pads, leather work gloves,
hard hat with chin strap, foam ear plugs, and safety glasses that meet OSHA
requirements.
