Rescue
Technician: Structural Collapse
A course
accredited by the Pro Board.
This course is conducted in five days and is designed to comply with NFPA 1006, Standard for Rescue Technician Professional
Qualifications. This program is a 44-hour intense course
which addresses heavy construction collapse and emphasizes the following
discipline areas: breaching and breaking; lifting and moving; interior
shoring; exterior shoring; and cutting and burning. See

Note:
This is a very physically demanding
course which requires you to be in good physical condition.
Special equipment required:
Steel toe shoes, clothing suitable for outside
activities (long-sleeved shirt and pants; coveralls), rain gear (coat and
trousers), knee pads, leather work gloves, hard hat
with chin strap, foam ear plugs, and safety glasses that meet OSHA requirements.

Prerequisites:
Candidate must be Certified Volunteer Fire Fighter or Certified Fire
Fighter I or have documented proof of
Hazardous Materials
Awareness & Operational
training; and Introduction to Technical Rescue; and must have completed an EMT: Basic course.
