Rescue
Technician: Rope Refresher
This
course is designed to provide hands on training that will allow students to
stay up to date in the field of rope rescue. The course will consist
primarily of outside skills practice of the pertinent job performance
requirements of the NFPA 1006, Standard for Rescue Technician
Professional Qualifications.
The
refresher course will review; uses and limitation equipment; knotcraft;
safety aspects; anchoring systems; rescue rappelling; third man rescue;
lowering systems and other aspects of rope rescue.
Note:
This is a very physically
demanding course which requires you to be in good physical condition.
Special Equipment Required: Climbing helmet
or firefighting helmet with chin strap, hiking boots or work boots, leather
work gloves or leather climbing gloves.
