Instructor Awareness and
Train the Trainer
Instructor Awareness Training is a required in-service for all
instructors. Day 1 is for all resident, adjunct, and field
instructors. The agenda includes a series of presentations on
certification guidelines, AFC policies and procedures, a review of the
Instructor Handbook, Pro Board requirements, NFPA standards revisions,
and an explanation of current skill sheet evaluations. On Day 2,
instructors review and evaluate the cognitive, affective and psychomotor
knowledge required to instruct various courses in a field setting.
Day 2 is required for anyone planning to teach AFC courses. After
completing Day 2, the instructor candidate assists with the instruction
of one course.
