Fire Fighter I/ II Bridge Program
This is an entry-level bridge course for certified Volunteer Fire
Fighters who want Fire Fighter I/II certification. This four-week
course consists of a combination of classroom study, drill field
practice, and training evolutions that prepares the fire fighters to
perform most fire ground functions under the supervision of an officer
or experienced fire fighter. Successful completion of all written exams,
practical exercises, and a passing score on the state certification exam
is required for graduation.
Additional Requirements:
Student must be a
state-certified Volunteer Fire Fighter, successfully complete the
Candidate Physical Ability Exam (CPAT), and submit a Notice of
Employment and Physical Statement and High School Diploma or GED.
Equipment Required: NFPA-
compliant turnout gear, SCBA, spare bottle, PASS device, white AFC
t-shirts and red AFC shorts for physical training, and running shoes
(white or black).
