Apparatus Operator:  Aerial
 

A certification course accredited by the Pro Board.
Meets the requirements of chapter 2 and 4 of NFPA 1002, Standard for Apparatus Operator Professional Qualifications, 2003 edition. See the course syllabus.


A course designed to provide the structural fire fighter with the needed knowledge and skills to successfully operate aerial apparatus. A must for departments using aerial apparatus, this course covers topics such as: Types and Construction of Aerial Apparatus, Positioning Aerial Apparatus, Stabilizing the Tactics, and Maintenance and Testing.

Additional requirements: Also included in this course is a section of performance standards that must be completed and documented by the student at their department prior to attending the course.

Note: This is a very physically demanding course which requires you to be in good physical condition.

Registration fee waived for in-state students. This does not include lodging. Please refer to our no-show policy concerning fee-waived courses.

$295.00 In-State; $495.00 Out-of-State/Industrial

Prerequisite:
Certified Fire Fighter I or Certified Volunteer Fire Fighter; valid drivers license; and documentation on 16 hours apparatus training that must be completed and documented by the student at their department prior to attending the course.
Skill Sheets 1-5 are used to document the 16 hour training.
