SCHOOL BUS EXTRICATION

This specialized course is a two-day program that will provide each student with an in-depth understanding of rescue and extrication operations involving a school bus.  Topics covered include school bus construction, scene safety and hazard control, incident command, and EMS considerations. This course will be taught by Alabama Fire College staff using different brands of extrication equipment.  Class size will be limited to assure full student participation in all activities.

Special Equipment Required: Full turnout gear

Necessary forms used by departments in order to request and schedule courses for their areas. These forms are not for the field student.

Course Hours: 12
Prerequisite: High School Diploma/GED
