MANAGING COMPANY
TACTICAL OPERATIONS: PREPARATION
Managing Company Tactical Operations: Preparation (MCTO:P) is designed to
provide a basic foundation for the management of one or more companies
operating at a structural fire emergency. The focus of these five modules is
a review of basic concepts and development of proficiency in critical
skills. Key content includes: Role and Responsibilities, Readiness,
Communication, Building Construction, and Fire Behavior Factors, and
Pre-incident Preparation. The curriculum consists of three separate, but
interdependent courses: MCTO: Preparation, MCTO: Decision Making, and MCTO:
Tactics. The three courses provide a systematic approach to fire incident
management; as such, they are designed to be taken in sequence.
Necessary forms used by departments in order to request and schedule
courses for their areas. These forms are not for the field student.
