Introduction to Technical Rescue

This two-day course addresses Chapter 5 of NFPA 1006, Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications. It is a prerequisite to all of the Rescue Technician certification courses. Subjects include site operations, victim management, maintenance and ropes and rigging. For certification, the rescue technician must perform all of the job performance requirements included in this course. See the course syllabus

Special Equipment Required: Climbing helmet or firefighting helmet with chin strap, boots-hiking or work boots, leather work gloves (climbing or leather work gloves).

Necessary forms used by departments in order to request and schedule courses for their areas. These forms are not for the field student.

Course Hours: 16
Prerequisites: EMT Basic or Proof of EMT training.
