INITIAL RESPONSE TO
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENTS: CONCEPT IMPLEMENTATION
This course reinforces and expands upon information presented in the Initial
Response to Hazardous Materials Incidents: Basic Concepts (IRHMI:BC)
course. More detail and new concepts are provided on procedures, usage and
related considerations following the basic chronology of a hazardous
material incident.
Specific course topics include:

Gathering information

Estimating the potential course and harm of the incident

Determining strategic goals

Assessing tactical options
-
Planning and implementing actions, evaluating and reviewing
Because of the dangers posed by the chemical substance, this course covers
information that the first responders need to know to affect their planning,
training and actions on the scene. This course brings those issues together
for a successful incident resolution.
Necessary forms used by departments in order to request and schedule
courses for their areas. These forms are not for the field student.
