INITIAL RESPONSE TO
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENTS: Basic Concepts
This course gives students an understanding of the basic concepts and
techniques of hazardous materials first response. Instruction is based on 29
CFR 1910.120 (OSHA) and CFR 311 (EPA), but does not include hands-on
applications or exercises.
Specific course topics include:

Resources
Local
government must provide a defense against hazardous materials emergencies.
This includes fire service, emergency medical service (EMS), law
enforcement, and other emergency response personnel.
Necessary forms used by departments in order to request and schedule
courses for their areas. These forms are not for the field student.
