FIRE
SUPPRESSION: TACTICS AND STRAGEGY
The Fire Suppression
Tactics and Strategy course is designed to provide the student with a
general knowledge of fire behavior and facts related to the theories,
practice methods, responsibilities, sequence and application of fireground
strategy and tactics.
The course provides the
student with an understanding of strategic planning and tactical
considerations in an attempt to cause the performance of each fireground
task to come together in a winning effort. The intent of this course is to
develop proficiency in recognizing a fire’s degree and potential, making
proper extinguishing-related decision, and evaluating the results. Many
times emergency response personnel are involved in a fire-related incident
where the solution(s) seems unattainable. Often the solution is in the
basics.
This course is recommended
to all emergency service personnel.
