The Pro Board National
Registry now has an on-line look-up service. Certifications received from an
accredited institution can be viewed by accessing the Pro Board website. The
web-based certification search tool will display the following information
to the visitor: name, certification level, date certified, standard number,
edition date, and certifying agency. Applicants, agencies, prospective
employers, and other interested parties will be able to obtain certification
information online through this secure website.
* Please Note:
Certifications issued by the Alabama Fire College are listed on the Pro
Board website within a few weeks after testing and certification. HOWEVER,
you must check with the Alabama Fire College Certification office
(205-391-3745) for currency of your Alabama volunteer and fire fighter
certification. Please check the Policies, Procedures, and Regulations of the
Commission section of our website for pertinent policies regarding fire
fighter expiration.
The Alabama Fire
College has been accredited by the National Board on Fire Service
Professional Qualifications for over 20 years.
Since early 2001, a student
successfully completing a certification course is issued an Alabama Fire
College and Pro Board certificate. This service eliminates the
need for the student to make a separate application to the Pro Board or pay
any additional fees for national certification. Certificates that have been
issued by the Alabama Fire College from 2001 forward are automatically
listed in this national registry. Any certifications prior to 2001 are
listed on this site only if a separate application was made to
the Pro Board by the student.
The good news is that there
is no time limit on applying for national certification for current fire
fighters if an individual application was not made for certificates issued
prior to 2001. Please take this opportunity to apply for recognition of this
achievement of meeting the national professional standards.
To gain Pro Board
certification for certificates issued prior to 2001, please complete an
application and forward to the Alabama Fire
