Member Bios
Greg
Ackley
– Greg began his
career in the fire service in 1994. He became a member of the Vestavia Fire
Department in 1998 and now holds the position of apparatus operator. Greg
also works as a fire fighter and paramedic with the Chelsea Fire
Department. Greg has an Associate degree in Applied Science for Fire Science
Management and Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety
Administration. Greg holds the following certifications through Alabama Fire
College: Fire Fighter I and II; Fire Officer I and II, Fire Instructor I and
II; Apparatus Operator: Pumper and Aerial; Fire Inspector I; Hazardous
Materials Technician; Rescue Technician: High Angle Rope Rescue, Confined
Space, Structural Collapse and Trench Rescue; SCBA Specialist; and
Paramedic. His Swift Water Advanced certification is from Rescue 3
International.
James C. Bird - Foley Fire Department
Horace Clanton
– Horace joined the
Auburn Fire Department in March 1982, and he currently serves in the
position of Lieutenant. Horace holds certification in Fire Fighter I and II;
Fire Officer I and II; Apparatus Operator: Pumper and Aerial; Instructor I,
II, and III; Inspector I; Investigator; Investigator Advanced; Hazardous
Materials Technician; Airport Fire Fighter; Rescue Technician: Trench, and
EMT Intermediate.
Bart Harden
– Bart has been
employed with Ozark Fire Department since 1989 and currently serves as the
training officer/EMS supervisor for the department. He holds a paramedic
certification from Wallace Community College in Dothan, an Associate degree
in Fire Science from Shelton State Community College, and a BS degree in
Public Safety and Health Administration from Athens State University. Bart
is an ACLS, BTLS, and BCLS IT instructor and is also an adjunct instructor
for the field and resident divisions of Alabama Fire College. Bart holds the
following certifications from Alabama Fire College: Fire Fighter I/II;
Apparatus Operator: Pumper and Aerial; Hazardous Materials Technician; Fire
Officer I, II, III, and IV; Fire Instructor I, II, and III; Fire Inspector
I, and Fire Investigator.
Tony Klostermann - Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue
Russell Ledbetter
– Russell
Ledbetter – Russell has been the Fire Chief for the City of
Trussville since 1998. He has
served in the Fire Service since 1979 with 25 years of experience. Russell
holds the following certifications through Alabama Fire College: Fire
Fighter I & II, Fire Instructor I & II, Fire Inspector I & II, Fire
Investigator, Fire Officer I, II, & III, Apparatus Operator Pumper,
Apparatus Operator Aerial, Hazardous Materials Fires Responder: Awareness,
Operational, Incident Commander, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Public
Fire & Life Safety Education I & II. He has an Associates Degree in Allied
Health and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Safety Administration.
Russell received Executive Fire Officer Certification for the National Fire
Academy in 2003. He received Chief Fire Officer Designation in 2004.
Fred McCay
–
Fred has been chief of Pemco Aeroplex, Inc. Fire Department since 2000. He
has been employed by the fire department at Pemco since 1995, starting as a
fire fighter/EMT. He also has served with the Dallas-Selfville Volunteer
Fire and Rescue Department since 1975 in various positions including chief
from 1993 through 1999. Fred now serves as a volunteer with Locust Fork Fire
and Rescue and is also a member of the Blount County Hazardous Materials
Response Team. He is certified as a Volunteer Fire Fighter; Fire Fighter
II; Airport Fire Fighter; Instructor I, II, and III; Fire Officer I and II;
Fire Investigator; Hazardous Materials Technician and Incident Commander;
and Apparatus Operator: Pumper. Fred attended the first Pump Repair and
Maintenance course offered by the Fire College. He holds an Associate’s
degree in Fire Science from
Jefferson State Community College.
Kenny H. Ray –
Kenny has been with the Bessemer Fire Department since 1987, and currently
serves as the Training Officer. Kenny has a Bachelors of Science degree in
Chemistry/Biology from Samford University. His
certifications include Fire Fighter I and II, Fire Officer I and II, Fire
Instructor I and II, Apparatus Operator Pumper and Aerial, Hazardous
Materials Technician/Specialist, and Airport Fire Fighter. He also has been
trained in High Angle, Confined Space and Trench Rescue, SCBA Specialist,
CPR Instructor, and Propane Emergencies.
Paul
Stanford-
Paul Stanford
has been in the fire service for 16 years with Guntersville Fire and Rescue.
He is
currently serving as Captain on B-shift at Station 1 and as an EMT II on
Engine 1. Paul holds certifications from Alabama Fire Collage for Fire
Fighter I/II, Fire Officer I and II, Apparatus Operator: Pumper and Aerial,
Inspector I, Instructor I and II, Hazardous Material Technician, and
Technical Rescue: Confined Space.
Chief David Tucker –
David is the Training Officer for Prattville Fire Department. He has been
with Prattville since 1983, and served with the Autaugaville Volunteer Fire
Department from 1977-1986. He has an Associates Degree in Fire Science and
an Associates Degree in Allied Health. He is a Certified Fire Fighter I and
II, Fire Instructor I and II, Fire Officer I and II, Apparatus Operator
Pumper and Aerial, and Hazardous Materials Technician. He has also is a
Certified Smoke Diver through the Mississippi Fire Academy.
Roger Wyatt – Roger Dale Wyatt has worked for the Birmingham Fire
and Rescue Service since 1991. He is presently an Apparatus Operator
assigned to Quint 20 in Battalion One. He holds the position of vice
president of the Birmingham Firefighters Association Local 117 and is the
president of Professional Firefighters of Alabama. As a member of the
Alabama Joint Fire Council, he shares his expertise with other
firefighters.
Roger holds a
Bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Athens State
University as well as an Associate’s degree in Applied Science-Fire Science
from Jefferson State Community College. He received his Paramedic
certification from The University of Alabama Birmingham.
Mr. Wyatt’s
certifications from the Alabama Fire College include Fire Fighter I and II,
Apparatus Operator: Pumper and Aerial, Fire Officer I and II, Fire
Instructor I and II, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations, Hazardous
Materials Technician, Fire Department Safety Officer.
Pete Zekoff – Pete
has been with Pelham Fire Department for more than 23 years, where he
currently serves as Captain/Paramedic. He has served on the Alabama Fire
College Adjunct Faculty since 1983, where he instructs a variety of courses
for the resident, field and industrial divisions. He holds an Associates
Degree in Fire Science and is currently working on final project in Safety
Engineering for his B.S. In addition to the numerous certifications he
holds from the Alabama Fire College, Pete has also attended the National
Fire Academy, Engineering Extension Services of Texas A&M Fire Academy,
Beaumont Rail Transportation, CLEAR, Alabama Criminal Justice Information
Center, Florida State Fire College, and the International Society of Fire
Service Instructor courses. Pete also serves as the Pelham Fire Explorer
Post # 2611 Chairman.
